Ingredients

  • 1 head of cabbage, cored and chopped
  • 4 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 pounds potatoes, peeled and diced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. In a large pot, cook the bacon and onions over medium heat until the bacon is crispy and the onions are soft.
  2. Add the cabbage, butter, and milk to the pot and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add the potatoes to the pot and bring to a boil. Boil for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are tender.
  4. Drain the potatoes and cabbage and return them to the pot.
  5. Using a potato masher or a fork, mash the potatoes and cabbage until they are smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve and enjoy!
