Ingredients
1 cup warm water
1 teaspoon active dry yeast
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 teaspoons sugar
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried thyme
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil for topping
1 tablespoon freshly grated Parmesan cheese for topping
1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley for topping
Directions
In a large bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, olive oil, and sugar. Stir until the yeast has dissolved.
Add the flour and salt and stir until a dough forms.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9-inch (23 cm) round baking pan with olive oil.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to fit the prepared pan.
Transfer the dough to the prepared pan and press down with your fingers to fit the pan.
Brush the top of the dough with olive oil and sprinkle with the garlic, oregano, basil, and thyme.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and brush the top with olive oil. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and parsley.
Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
