Try this easy and healthy version of the classic Japanese dish, Pork Tonkatsu. By using an air fryer instead of deep frying, you can enjoy a crispy and flavorful dish without all the extra oil. Serve it with a tangy Tonkatsu sauce and a side of rice or salad for a complete meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 pork loin chops (boneless)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • Cooking spray (olive oil or vegetable oil)
  • Tonkatsu sauce (for serving)
  • Cooked rice or salad (for serving)

Directions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Season the pork loin chops with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. Place the flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs in separate shallow dishes.
  4. Coat each pork chop with flour, dip it into the beaten eggs, and then coat it with panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere the breadcrumbs.
  5. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  6. Place the coated pork chops in the air fryer basket in a single layer. You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  7. Spray the tops of the pork chops with cooking spray.
  8. Air fry the pork chops at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
  9. Remove the pork chops from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
  10. Serve the air fried pork tonkatsu with tonkatsu sauce, cooked rice or salad.
