Ingredients
- 1 head of cabbage
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 can of tomato sauce
- 1 can of diced tomatoes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 1/4 cup beef broth
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully remove the core from the cabbage and place it in the boiling water. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the leaves are soft and pliable. Remove from water and let cool.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the onion and garlic. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme. Stir in the cooked rice and parsley.
- Carefully peel off the cabbage leaves and trim the tough center stem. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture on each leaf and roll up tightly, tucking in the sides as you go.
- Place the cabbage rolls seam side down in a baking dish. Pour the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and beef broth over the rolls. Cover with foil and bake for 45-50 minutes.
- Serve hot with additional sauce and enjoy!
