Learn how to make classic Golabki stuffed cabbage rolls with this easy recipe. These savory rolls are filled with a flavorful mixture of ground beef, rice, and spices, then simmered in a rich tomato sauce. Perfect for a cozy family dinner!

Ingredients

  • 1 head of cabbage
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 can of tomato sauce
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1/4 cup beef broth

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully remove the core from the cabbage and place it in the boiling water. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the leaves are soft and pliable. Remove from water and let cool.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the onion and garlic. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme. Stir in the cooked rice and parsley.
  4. Carefully peel off the cabbage leaves and trim the tough center stem. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture on each leaf and roll up tightly, tucking in the sides as you go.
  5. Place the cabbage rolls seam side down in a baking dish. Pour the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and beef broth over the rolls. Cover with foil and bake for 45-50 minutes.
  6. Serve hot with additional sauce and enjoy!
