  • - 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • - 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • - 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • - 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • - 30-40 wonton wrappers
  • For the Soup:
  • - 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • - 1 cup chopped onion
  • - 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • - 8 cups chicken broth
  • - 1 cup shredded cooked chicken
  • - 1 cup finely chopped shrimp
  • - 1/4 cup fish sauce (patis)
  • - 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • - 2 green onions, chopped
  • - 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • - 1/4 cup fried garlic, for garnish

Directions

  2. Place a small amount of the pork mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges with water and fold over, sealing the edges to form a triangle or a wonton shape. Repeat with the remaining pork mixture and wonton wrappers.
  3. In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until translucent.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil. Add shredded chicken, chopped shrimp, fish sauce, and black pepper. Stir well and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Gently drop the prepared wonton dumplings into the simmering soup. Cook for 5-7 minutes or until the dumplings float to the surface.
  6. Add chopped green onions and cilantro to the soup. Stir gently to incorporate the flavors.
  7. Ladle the soup into bowls, garnish with fried garlic, and serve hot.
