  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup raisins or chopped nuts (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves.
  3. Add the softened butter to the dry ingredients and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
