  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with buttermilk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients.
  5. In a small separate bowl, mix together the cinnamon and sugar for the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  6. Pour a fourth of the batter into two greased and floured 9x5-inch loaf pans.
  7. Sprinkle a third of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter in each pan.
  8. Repeat the layers two more times, ending with the cinnamon sugar mixture on top.
  9. Using a knife, swirl the cinnamon sugar mixture into the batter.
  10. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  11. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove the loaves from the pans and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
