Ingredients
- 2 lbs beef chuck, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 2 tbsp paprika
- 1 tsp caraway seeds
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 cup red wine
- 2 bay leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked egg noodles or rice, for serving
Directions
- In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the beef cubes in batches and brown on all sides. Remove and set aside.
- Add the onion and garlic to the pot and sauté until softened.
- Add the bell peppers, paprika, and caraway seeds. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Return the beef to the pot and add the diced tomatoes, beef broth, red wine, bay leaves, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 1.5 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot over cooked egg noodles or rice.
