The simplicity of the ingredients and the delectable taste make this recipe a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds of boneless turkey breast
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Cooking spray

Directions

  1. Trim any visible skin and fat from the turkey breast and cut it into thin strips.
  2. In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if desired). Stir well to combine.
  3. Add the turkey strips to the marinade and toss until they are evenly coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
  4. Preheat your oven to 175°F (80°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place a wire rack on top of the baking sheet and lightly grease it with cooking spray.
  5. Remove the turkey strips from the marinade and place them in a single layer on the wire rack. Make sure there is some space between each strip for even drying.
  6. Bake the turkey strips in the preheated oven for 4 to 5 hours, or until they have dried and become firm. The jerky should feel dry to the touch but still slightly pliable.
  7. Once the jerky is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool completely. Pat it dry with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture.
  8. Store the jerky in an airtight container or resealable bags. It will keep well at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
