Sarah's Special Sushi is a unique twist on traditional sushi, featuring a combination of fresh ingredients and flavors that will leave your taste buds wanting more. This recipe is perfect for a special occasion or a fun night in with friends and family.


  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound sushi-grade fish (such as tuna or salmon)
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 cucumber, julienned
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon wasabi
  • 1 tablespoon pickled ginger
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds


  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Combine the rice and water in a rice cooker and cook according to instructions.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Heat until the sugar and salt dissolve.
  4. Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl and gently fold in the vinegar mixture. Let the rice cool to room temperature.
  5. Slice the fish into thin strips.
  6. Lay a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi mat. Wet your hands and spread a thin layer of rice on the nori, leaving a 1-inch border at the top.
