Ingredients

  • 1 pound hammerhead fish fillets
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • Juice of 1 orange
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 jalapeno, sliced
  • Lime wedges, for serving

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine the lime juice, orange juice, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create the marinade.
  2. Place the hammerhead fish fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Make sure the fish is evenly coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Remove the fish from the marinade and place it directly on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  4. While the fish is cooking, prepare the slaw. In a separate bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, chopped cilantro, mayonnaise, lime juice, and honey. Mix well to coat the cabbage.
  5. Warm the tortillas on the grill for about 30 seconds on each side.
  6. To assemble the tacos, place a piece of grilled hammerhead fish on each tortilla. Top with the slaw and garnish with sliced jalapenos. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
  7. Enjoy your delicious hammerhead fish tacos!
