Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup fresh plums, pitted and sliced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tbsp milk

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter until warm, but not boiling.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add the warm milk mixture and egg, mix well.
  3. Gradually stir in the remaining flour until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar. Arrange plum slices on top.
  6. Roll up the dough tightly and slice into rolls. Place them in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
