Ingredients

  • 1 bunch of asparagus
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup of beer
  • Oil for frying

Directions

  1. Clean and trim the asparagus.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt and pepper.
  3. Slowly add the beer and stir until the batter is smooth.
  4. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350 degrees F.
  5. Dip the asparagus into the batter and carefully lower into the hot oil. Fry for 3-5 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
