Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken, cut into 8 pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup honey

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, oregano, thyme, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Add the chicken pieces to the bowl and toss to coat with the marinade.
  3. Cover the bowl and place in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or overnight.
  4. When ready to cook, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  5. Place the flour in a shallow dish or bowl.
  6. Dredge each piece of chicken in the flour, shaking off any excess.
  7. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan. When the oil is hot, add the chicken pieces and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish and place in the oven for 10 minutes.
  9. In a small saucepan, heat the honey over medium heat until just bubbling. Pour the honey over the chicken and return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the honey is bubbly.
  10. Serve the chicken with roasted potatoes and a fresh green salad.
