Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
Add the ginger, curry powder, cumin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cayenne pepper and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Add the wine, tomatoes, raisins, and almonds and stir to combine. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Add the rice and chicken broth and stir to combine. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer, cover, and cook for 20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked through.
Season to taste with salt and pepper and serve.
