Ingredients
- 4 large eggs, separated
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup brandy, optional
Directions
- In a medium bowl, beat egg yolks until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add sugar and beat until the mixture is thick and pale in color.
- Slowly add milk, cream, nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the egg whites into the egg yolk mixture.
- If desired, stir in brandy.
- Chill the eggnog for at least 30 minutes before serving.
