Ingredients
- 1 large head of cabbage
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cabbage head and cook for about 10 minutes, or until the outer leaves are soft and pliable.
- Remove the cabbage from the pot and carefully peel off the softened leaves. Trim any large rib sections to make rolling easier.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, cooked rice, diced onion, minced garlic, dried thyme, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Take a cabbage leaf and place a spoonful of the beef and rice mixture onto the center. Fold in the sides and roll up tightly. Repeat with the remaining cabbage leaves and filling.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the tomato sauce, tomato paste, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Spread a thin layer of the tomato sauce mixture onto the bottom of a baking dish.
- Place the cabbage rolls seam-side down in the baking dish, arranging them close together.
- Pour the remaining tomato sauce mixture over the top of the cabbage rolls.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 60-70 minutes, or until the cabbage rolls are tender and the filling is cooked through.
