Ingredients
- 2/3 cup melted butter
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup water
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, flour, eggs, sugar, baking soda, vanilla extract, lemon zest, and salt.
- Gradually add the water to the mixture and stir until the dough is soft and pliable.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface until it is about 1/4 inch thick.
- Using a pastry wheel or sharp knife, cut the dough into strips about 1/2 inch wide and 4 inches long.
- Fold the strips at the center and pinch the ends together to form bow-ties.
- Place the bow-ties on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
- Let cool before serving.
