Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder

Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, oil, buttermilk, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Add the hot coffee and Scotch whiskey and mix until combined.
- Pour the batter into two 9-inch round cake pans that have been greased and floured.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
- To make the frosting, cream together the cream cheese and butter until light and fluffy.
- Add the powdered sugar and Scotch whiskey and mix until combined.
- Spread the frosting over the cooled cake layers and sprinkle with chocolate chips.
