In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in peanut butter, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually beat in flour. Stir in chocolate chips and coconut.
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375° for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool for 1 minute before removing to wire racks.
