Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the cumin, chili powder, paprika, dried oregano, and cayenne pepper (if using). Cook for an additional 2 minutes to toast the spices.
- Add the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and diced green chilies to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer the sauce for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Spread a thin layer of the tomato sauce mixture on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Place a layer of corn tortillas on top of the sauce, covering the bottom of the dish.
- Spread half of the remaining tomato sauce mixture over the tortillas.

- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
