Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cut into small cubes
  • 3/4 cup cold buttermilk
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter cubes until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the buttermilk and shredded cheddar cheese until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the parsley and thyme.
  6. Using a tablespoon, scoop out a portion of the dough and drop it onto a greased baking sheet.
  7. Repeat with remaining dough, spacing the biscuits about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. In a small saucepan, melt the butter and garlic powder over low heat.
  10. Brush the melted butter mixture over the warm biscuits.
  11. Serve warm and enjoy!
