Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ⅔ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the cream, milk, sugar, and spices. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is steaming and hot. Do not let it come to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat and add the vanilla extract. Let cool to room temperature, about 15 minutes.
  3. Pour the mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish and freeze for 1 hour. Stir the mixture with a fork and return to the freezer for another hour.
  4. Repeat this process every hour for 3-4 hours, or until the mixture is frozen and has a creamy texture.
  5. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 1 month.
