Ingredients

  • 6 cups cubed white or wheat bread (1" cubes)
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup maple syrup
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the cream, maple syrup, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  3. Add the cubed bread and stir until all the bread is evenly coated.
  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, butter, and pecans. Sprinkle over the top of the bread pudding.
  6. Bake in preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until top is golden brown and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with caramel sauce and serve warm.
