Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can pinto beans, drained
  • 1 can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until cooked through. Drain off any fat.
  2. Add the onion, garlic, and bell pepper to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, maple syrup, cumin, and salt and pepper to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. Serve with your favorite toppings and enjoy!
