Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a baking sheet.
In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves.
In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in the candied fruit and nuts.
Roll the dough into two 8-inch logs. Place them on the prepared baking sheet and flatten slightly.
Bake for 25 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool for 10 minutes.
Reduce oven temperature to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Cut the logs into 1/2-inch slices. Place slices cut-side down on the baking sheet.
Bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool completely.
