Bridal Shower Cake

Ingredients

• 3 cups all-purpose flour
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, at room temperature
• 2 cups granulated sugar
• 4 large eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 cup sour cream
• 1/2 cup buttermilk

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, until combined.
4. Mix in vanilla extract, sour cream, and buttermilk until combined.
5. Slowly add in dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
6. Divide batter evenly among prepared pans and spread out with a spatula.
7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
8. Let cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
9. Decorate cake with frosting of choice.
