Ingredients

  • 2 large pears, cored and diced into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons brandy
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup chopped raisins

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a baking sheet.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the pears, brandy, brown sugar, and spices. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract. Gradually stir in the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Fold in the walnuts and raisins. Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
  6. Fill each cookie with a tablespoon of the pear mixture. Bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until lightly browned.
  7. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
