Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken, about 4 pounds
- 2 tablespoons of salt
- 2 tablespoons of black pepper
- 2 tablespoons of garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons of paprika
- 2 tablespoons of onion powder
- 2 tablespoons of dried oregano
- 2 tablespoons of dried thyme
- 4 cups of water
Directions
- Rinse the chicken and pat dry with a paper towel.
- In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, oregano, and thyme.
- Sprinkle the seasoning mix evenly over the chicken.
- Place the chicken in a large pot and add enough water to cover the chicken by about 2 inches.
- Bring the water to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Remove the chicken from the pot and let it cool before serving.
