Ingredients

  • 4 cups of fresh black raspberries
  • 1 cup of white sugar
  • 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup of cold butter, cubed
  • 1 cup of self-rising flour
  • 1/2 cup of milk

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine black raspberries, sugar, 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Pour raspberry mixture into an ungreased 8-inch square baking dish.
  4. In a medium bowl, cut together butter, self-rising flour, and milk until crumbly. Sprinkle over raspberry mixture.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. Serve warm or cold.
