Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh berries, such as blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, etc.
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons freshly chopped mint
  • 1/4 cup water

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the berries, sugar, mint and water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool for 15 minutes.
  3. Pour the mixture into a shallow dish and place in the freezer.
  4. Every 30 minutes, remove the dish from the freezer and scrape the mixture with a fork to create icy flakes.
  5. Continue this process until mixture is frozen.
  6. Serve the granitas in individual dishes or bowls.
