Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a muffin tin or line with paper liners.
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder and salt. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Add the beer, and mix until just blended.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just blended. Fill muffin cups 3/4 full.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
