Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lbs. beef, cut into cubes
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 can coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef cubes and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Add the onion and garlic and cook for another 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add the fish sauce, black pepper, cumin, coriander, and turmeric and stir to combine. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  4. Add the coconut milk and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Stir in the lime juice and simmer for another 5 minutes. Serve garnished with cilantro.
