Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pound lean beef, cut into strips
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Directions

  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the beef strips and cook until lightly browned, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the onion and garlic and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  4. Add the mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt and pepper and cook for 3 minutes.
  5. Stir in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a boil.
  6. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
  7. Stir in the sour cream and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  8. Serve over egg noodles or mashed potatoes.
