Ingredients
- 1 loaf of French bread
- 6 slices of bacon
- 6 eggs
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice the top off the French bread loaf and set it aside. Using a bread knife, carefully hollow out the inside of the loaf, leaving about a 1-inch thick shell. Reserve the removed bread for another use.
- In a skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels. Crumble the bacon into small pieces.
- In a bowl, beat the eggs. Add the milk, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions, crumbled bacon, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
- Pour the egg mixture into the hollowed-out bread loaf, ensuring it is evenly distributed.
- Place the bread loaf and the reserved top on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice into thick pieces and serve warm.
