Ingredients

  • 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup cold water, plus 2 tablespoons
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cayenne pepper.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cold water and cornstarch.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and whisk until a smooth batter is formed.
  4. Add the shrimp to the batter and stir to coat.
  5. Preheat the air-fryer to 350°F.
  6. Spray the air-fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray.
  7. Carefully place the battered shrimp in the air-fryer basket and cook for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket occasionally.
  8. Once the shrimp is cooked through and golden brown, remove from the air-fryer and serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
