Ingredients

  • 1 whole turkey, thawed
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place the turkey in a roasting pan. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and thyme.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter and chopped parsley. Brush the turkey with the butter mixture.
  4. In a medium-sized skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the flour and stir continuously for 2 minutes.
  5. Slowly add the chicken broth and continue to stir until the sauce thickens.
  6. Add the cream and continue to simmer until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.
  7. Pour the sauce over the turkey and cover the pan with aluminum foil.
  8. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until the turkey is cooked through.
  9. Remove the turkey from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
