Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1 package of ready-made pastry dough
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the ground pork, ground beef, allspice, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper, ginger, salt, and water.
  3. Divide the mixture into two equal parts.
  4. Roll out one of the pastry doughs and place it in a pie plate, pressing the dough along the sides and bottom.
  5. Pour half of the meat mixture into the pie plate, spreading it out evenly.
  6. Roll out the other pastry dough and place it over top of the meat mixture, pressing the edges together.
  7. Brush the top of the pie with the beaten egg.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
  9. Let cool before serving.
