Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons cumin seeds
  • 2 tablespoons coriander seeds
  • 1 tablespoon fenugreek seeds
  • 2 teaspoons black peppercorns
  • 2 teaspoons cardamom pods
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala

Directions

  1. In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast the cumin, coriander, and fenugreek seeds for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  2. Transfer the toasted seeds to a bowl and let cool for a few minutes.
  3. Add the peppercorns, cardamom pods, cinnamon powder, red chili powder, turmeric, ginger, and garam masala to the bowl and stir to combine.
  4. Using a spice grinder, grind the spice mixture until it is a fine powder.
  5. Transfer the mixture to an airtight container and store in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.
