Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the green beans and garlic and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beans are tender.
  3. Add the red pepper flakes, brown sugar, pepper and salt and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Serve immediately.
