Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups fresh or frozen fruit (such as blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, or peaches)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and allspice. Add the milk and mix until well combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish. Arrange the fruit over the top of the batter. Sprinkle with the brown sugar.
- Bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Serve warm.
