Ingredients
1 pound Italian sausage
2 bell peppers, sliced
1 onion, sliced
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup shredded provolone cheese
1 package pizza dough
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the Italian sausage until it is browned.
Add the bell peppers and onion to the skillet and cook until they are soft, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the garlic powder, oregano, basil, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and salt. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese. Set aside.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle.
Spread the sausage mixture onto the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
Sprinkle the mozzarella and provolone cheeses over the sausage mixture.
Fold the edges of the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
Bake the stromboli for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
Allow the stromboli to cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
