Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour 12 muffin cups, or line with paper liners.
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a medium bowl, cream together melted butter and sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla. Gradually mix in dry ingredients alternately with milk. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups.
Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of a cupcake comes out clean. Let cool in pans for 10 minutes before removing to cool completely.
When cupcakes are cooled, spoon strawberry compote over each cupcake. Serve and enjoy!
