Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup of butter
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 2 cups of peeled, cored and thinly sliced apples
  • 1/2 cup of crushed graham crackers
  • 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Add sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice and cloves. Stir until blended.
  4. Add vanilla extract, water and apples. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. In a 9-inch pie plate, spread the graham cracker crumbs.
  7. Pour the cooked apples over the crust.
  8. Sprinkle the walnuts on top.
  9. Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  10. Let cool before serving.
