Ingredients
- 1 package of tempeh
- 1/4 cup hot sauce
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 cups shredded cabbage
- 12 slider buns
Directions
- In a bowl, mix together the hot sauce, melted butter, soy sauce, maple syrup, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper to make the buffalo marinade.
- Cut the tempeh into thin slices and place them in a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the tempeh and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- In the meantime, prepare the coleslaw by mixing together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, honey, salt, and pepper. Add the shredded cabbage to the dressing and toss until well coated. Set aside.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of oil. Cook the marinated tempeh slices for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden and crispy.
- Toast the slider buns lightly in the oven or on a grill.
- To assemble the sliders, spread a spoonful of coleslaw on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a slice of crispy tempeh and a dollop of additional hot sauce if desired. Place the top half of the bun on top and secure with toothpicks if needed.
- Serve the buffalo tempeh sliders as appetizers or as a main dish with additional coleslaw on the side.
- Enjoy!
