Ingredients
- 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
- 1/2 pound of sausage, casings removed
- 8 ounces of mushrooms, sliced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 4 ounces of cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon of fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the mushrooms, onion, and garlic. Cook until the mushrooms are browned and any liquid has evaporated. Remove from heat.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, parsley, salt, and pepper. Stir in the cooked sausage and mushroom mixture.
- Unroll the thawed puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface. Cut the pastry sheet into 4 equal squares.
- Place a spoonful of the filling mixture onto each square of puff pastry. Fold the pastry diagonally to form triangles. Press the edges to seal and then use a fork to crimp the edges.
- Transfer the tarts to the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with beaten egg wash.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the tarts are golden brown and puffed.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm!
