Ingredients

  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • 1 cup mashed potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1/2 cup warm water

Directions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the wheat flour, mashed potatoes, salt and cumin powder.
  2. Add the oil and mix together until the mixture is crumbly.
  3. Add the warm water and knead the dough until it is smooth and elastic.
  4. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions.
  5. Roll out each portion into a round chapati.
  6. Heat a tawa or griddle over medium-high heat. Place the chapati on the griddle and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Flip the chapati and cook for 1-2 minutes on the other side until it is golden brown.
  8. Serve warm with your favorite curry or vegetables.
