Ingredients

  • 1 pound of extra lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup of bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup of ketchup
  • 1/4 cup of Worcestershire sauce

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine beef, onion, bell pepper, carrot, garlic powder, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the egg, bread crumbs, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the beef mixture and mix until well combined.
  5. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place in a greased baking pan.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the center is cooked through.
  7. Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
