Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, add the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Whisk together to combine.
  2. Add the warm water and olive oil and mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Lightly oil a large bowl and place the dough inside. Cover with a kitchen towel and let rise for about 1 hour.
  5. Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down and turn it out onto a lightly floured surface.
  6. Divide the dough into 2 equal pieces and roll out each piece into a 12-inch round.
  7. Transfer the dough to a lightly greased baking sheet.
  8. Top with desired toppings and bake at 425°F for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
