Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup vegetable shortening
  • 2 tablespoons cold water

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine flour and salt.
  2. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add cold water and mix until dough clumps together.
  4. Form into a ball and flatten.
  5. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
  6. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/8 inch thick (or desired thickness).
  7. Gently fit into pie plate. Trim edges and flute.
  8. Bake according to pie recipe instructions.
